HP Deskjet 5740 Serial Printers - Removing and Installing Impress Cartridges

Step ane - Open the printer

Make sure the printer is turned on. Press the Power push if it is not lit.

Open the printer encompass, then await until the print cartridge cradle is idle and silent.

Step two: Remove one-time cartridges

Press downward lightly on the cease of each print cartridge to release information technology.
- The tri-color print cartridge is on the left
- The black or photo print cartridge is on the correct

Slide the cartridge out.

Stride three - Use a cartridge protector

If you lot are temporarily removing a working cartridge (for case, removing a Black cartridge in order to install a Photo cartridge), put it in a cartridge protector. Cartridge protectors come with Photo cartridges.

Step 4 - Make sure the new cartridges are compatible

Purchase replacement cartridges and other supplies from the HP Shop or local retailers.

Stride 5: Install new cartridges

If you are installing a new impress cartridge, remove the protective tape.

caution:
Practise not effort to remove the copper strip.
caution:
After the record is removed, do not affect the copper contacts or the ink nozzles.
Hold the impress cartridge so the nozzles are down and the contacts confront toward the printer, and then slide the cartridge into the railroad vehicle.
- Cartridges marked with a triangle go into the left carriage slot.
- Cartridges marked with a square or pentagon get into the correct carriage slot.

Button the impress cartridge forrad until information technology clicks into place.

Close the printer cover.
